This sentiment is especially strong around the second act of the film, when Benedict Cumberbatch's dimension-hopping Sorcerer Supreme encounters some very familiar but nonetheless unexpected characters. If those two words don't cross your mind at least a few times during Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, then the new Marvel Studios movie probably isn't doing its job.
